ASSOCIATION OF
TERRITORIAL PIONEERS
OF CALIFORNIA
Source: Constitution, By-laws & membership list adopted November 10th, 1874. This association was declared to be a social, benevolent, historical, literary and scientific association. The principal office was in the city and County of San Francisco.
The association is open to all white males who were residents of the Territory of California prior to the ninth day of September, 1850, and the male descendants of such; all white persons resident of this State who served in the Mexican War are eligible for honorary membership. Any qualified person desiring to become a member must be proposed by two members, who shall present his name, place of residence, occupation and date of arrival, or that of his ancestor in California, which will be entered in the Book of Registry, and will be voted on at the next meeting. Each new member will pay five dollars, giving the date and place of his birth, residence, occupation, and day of the month and the year of his arrival. Life membership dues are seventy five dollars. Yearly dues are six dollars.
