Clay Clay – Percy John Clay, 65, died yesterday afternoon in Rideout Memorial Hospital following an illness of several weeks, Clay was a native of Humboldt County and lived in Yuba County, since 1917, in the Loma Rica area for 18 years. He moved to Browns Valley a year ago. Clay has been a heavy equipment operator and for the past four years had been employed by the Browns Valley Irrigation Dist. He retired the first of November. He is survived by his wife, Verlie; a son, Frank of Marysville; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Metcalf of Marysville; four sisters, Mrs. Maude Looze of Marysville, Mrs. Ethel Heilmann of Nevada City, Mrs. Trudy Bronn of Reno and Mrs. Viola Calagari of Tamales and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. in Hutchison’s Colonial Chapel with Rev. Floyd Thomas, pastor of the First Assemblies of God Church in Marysville officiating. Interment will be in the Browns Valley Cemetery
