Source: History of San Luis Obispo County, California, Oakland, Calif., Thompson & West, 1883, pp 381-385; Pioneer Obituary DONA ENCARNACION CARRILLO – In San Luis Obispo, on the 10th of June, 1876, Dona Encarnacion Carrillo died, widow of Capt. Thomas M. Robbins, of Santa Barbara, a pioneer of 1823. Mrs. Robbins was born in the year 1814, and was the daughter of Don Carlos Antonio Carrillo, at one time Governor of the Department of California, under the Mexican regime. The presidio of Santa Barbara was at that time a military post, under the reign of Carlos Septimi, King of Spain, at which place she was born. It was fitting that her last hours should pass away under the roof of the old mission, now a century old. As she had lived she died, a Christian mother.
