JOSE DE LA GUERRA – In San Luis Obispo on February 10th of consumption, Jose de 
la Guerra died, aged eighty-six years.  The deceased had been ailing for many 
years, and was an old man of pleasing and affable demeanor and of good feeling.  
We do not believe that he had a single enemy in the county.  He was formerly 
Sheriff of the county of Santa Barbara.  Few men of his age left a larger circle 
of sincere friends to mourn his loss.
