JUAN GELBEZ – On Torro Creek, San Luis Obispo County, November 6, 1874, Juan 
Gelbez died, at the age of forty-eight years.  Mr. Gelbez was a native of Chile, 
and had been a resident of this county for twenty years.  He was a kind, 
obliging neighbor, and a loyal citizen.  He was buried under the auspices of the 
Catholic Church.
