San Diego Union, December 15, 1911 VETERAN'S FUNERAL LARGELY ATTENDED Masons and Grand Army Present in Body; Many Odd Fellows There Escondido, Dec. 14,-A large number of persons attended the funeral this forenoon of Hugh J. Marshall. The services were held from the Thompson chapel, and consisted of a scripture reading and a prayer by Rev. T.D. McLean, pastor of the Congregational church, and singing by the Baptist male quartet. Members of Consuelo lodge of Masons and of the Escondido Post of the Grand Army of the Republic, attended in a body, while many members of the Escondido lodge of Odd Fellows with which order the deceased was affiliated were present. At the close of the service in the chapel Consuelo lodge took charge escourting the body to the cemetery and carring out the Masonic burial service.
