"Big Bear Grizzly" Thursday, September 8, 2005

Mary Emma Brooks 96, passed Aug. 4, 2005, in Big Bear. Born April 27, 1909 in 
Saginaw, Mich., Mary was a four-year resident. She was preceded in death by her 
husband, Leonard, in 1990.

Mary is survived by her two sons, Roger T. and Hilda Davis Abbott of Big Bear 
City, and Van and Linda Altemberg Abbott of Ketchikan, Alaska, grandchildren 
Roger B. Abbott, Holly Mead of San Diego, Michelle Lee Lewis, Garret Van and 
John Donald Abbott of Alaska, Dennis Metcalf of Chula Vista, Cheryl Harrison of 
Big Bar Lake, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at Big Bear Mortuary Chapel on Friday, Sept. 9, 
2005, at 11
