Born April 18, 1923, in Tumbridge, VT., Burt was a former resident of Big Bear and the owner, along with his wife, Jewel, of Burt's Bear Valley TV Repair plus the Andrews Lodge. Burt and Jewel were foster parents for many years, loving and caring for countless numbers of children. They were very giving people. After retirement, Burt and Jewel moved to Clovis to be closer to family then to Mariposa for a brief time. When Jewel passed, Burt reluctantly moved back to Clovis. He was a mountain man through and through. The family wishes to thank his neighbor and friend, Mark Gibson, for all his care and companionship to Burt and to the families of the Latter Day Saints Ward for their fellowship and meals they made for Burt. He loved a home cooked meal. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of over 50 years, Jewel Ball. He is survived by his brother Gene Ball of Clovis, son James Ball of Morgan Hill and granddaughter Hadley Ball of Aromas, Calif., great niece and nephew and caregiver, Michael and DeeDe Swain of Clovis and several generations of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, at 10 a.m. at Latter Day Saints, 7th ward at Fowler and Gettysburg. Burial will follow at Clovis Cemetery.
