Bergen, who died Monday in a local hospital. Mrs. Bergen, 80, was born in Yuba City, a descendant of a Sutter County pioneering family of the mid-1800’s. She was a member of the first graduating class of Yuba City High School in the mid-1920’s and then attended the University of California, Berkeley. In Sacramento, she worked nine years as a senior clerk-typist for the state retirement board. Mrs. Bergen is survived by a son, Jerry of Sacramento; sister, Ivadell Benedetti of Sacramento; twin sister, Helen Butschy of Walnut Grove; and friend Deanna Stoddard of Rocklin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer L. Bergen. Arrangements were made through East Lawn Mortuary.
