Appeal Democrat Friday January 26, 1973

Thomas - Gertrude C Thomas, 82, an area resident most of her life died today at 
Holiday Hills Convalescent Hospital in Grass Valley. A native of Sutter she was 
born Sept 26, 1890 and had lived the last 13 years in Cedar Ridge. She was the 
daughter of the late Richard Milton and Eliza (McPherrin) Fichter. Her father, 
who was born in New Jersey came to California in 1877 and was married in 1885. 
Her mother was a native of Sutter. Survivors include her husband, True Thomas 
of Cedar Ridge; a son, Harvey Thomas of Yuba City; a daughter Mrs Leota 
Gonzales of Marysville; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral 
services will be held Monday at 2 pm at Ullrey Memorial Chapel with Mrs Angel 
Paillex of the Yuba City First Christian Science Church officiating. Burial 
will be in Sutter Cemetery.
