Mendocino Beacon; August 6, 1980 Fort Bragg - Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Cannarr-Fairlee Funeral Home for Russell Ray Fales, 23, Fort Bragg, who died in a hunting accident Sunday near Fort Bragg. A native and lifelong resident of Fort Bragg, he was a logger for Okerstrom Logging Co. of Fort Bragg. After four years in the U.S. Navy, he was discharged last December. He is survived by his mother, Loretta Davenport, step-father, Robert davenport, and brothers, Frank Fales, Robbie Davenport and Charlie Fales, all of Fort Bragg; sister, Connie Fales, Ukiah; step brothers, Timothy Davenport, Washington and Andrew Davenport, Fort Bragg; step sisters, Diane Lempke and Pam Ham, both of Washington, and grandmother, Hazel Dunsing, Ukiah. Mendocino Beacon, August 07, 1980 Pg 3 Services will be held this afternoon at 2 p.m. for Russell Ray Fales, 23, of Fort Bragg who was killed in a hunting accident east of Ten Mile Sunday evening. A native of Fort Bragg, Fales had lived here all his life except for four years in the U.S. Navy. He was discharged from the Navy last December and was currently working as a logger. Surviving Fales is his mother and stepfather, Loretta and Robert Davenport, both of Fort Bragg; his brothers Frank and Charlie Fales and Robbie Davenport, all of Fort Bragg; and a sister Connie Fales, Ukiah. Russell was the stepbrother of Timothy Davenport, Diane Lempke and Pam Ham, all of Washington and Andrew Davenport of Fort Bragg. Russell is also survived by his grandmother Hazel Dunsing of Ukiah. The Rev. Richard Larsen will officiate at services at the Cannarr-Fairlee Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rose memorial Park.
