Ukiah Daily Journal, Ukiah, Calif., Monday, January 22, 1973 RV man, 90, dies; rites set tomorrow Covelo - Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Covelo Methodist Church for George Britton, 90, of Covelo who died Saturday in a Willits hospital. Interment will be in Normalki Cemetery. Britton, who had lived almost his entire life in the Round Valley community, has 135 descendants, most of them residing in Mendocino and Lake counties. He is survived by 15 children, 56 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and three sisters, Mary Duncan of Covelo, Lela Clark of Chico and Frances Dunnigan of Fort Worth, Tx. His surviving children are Virginia Whipple of Ukiah, Mervin Britton of Potter Valley, Shirley Delgado of Clearlake Highlands, Linda Medenia of San Jose, Irma Hoaglen of Los Angeles, Susan Sandelin and Wanda McLaughlin of San Diego and Barbara Anderson, Harrietta Simmons, Roy, Ed and George Britton Jr., and two step-sons, Armstead Want and Buster Azbill, all of Covelo. Zimmerman Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
