Meridian Native Dies

Lester J Wood, 85, a native and life-long resident of Meridian, died this 
morning in Valley West Convalescent Hospital at Williams. Wood, who had farmed 
in the Meridian area all his life was a member of the Meridian IOOF Lodge. 
His wife, Clarice, died in 1977. Survivors include two sons, Charles E Wood of 
Colusa and Martin J Wood of Fair Oaks; a sister, Alice Summy of Meridian and 
four grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 am Saturday in 
McNary-Moore Chapel at Colusa. Burial will be in Meridian Cemetery.
