Nellie Burtis
Mrs Nellie Phillips Burtis born Sept. 5, 1868 at Lincoln, Placer Co., died this morning 
in the Colusa Memorial Hospital after an illness of six months. She is survived by seven 
children: Floyd P., of Marysville; L. J. of Napa; J. C. of San Jose; Mrs Zella Banning of 
Sacramento; Mrs Marie Ornbaun of Grimes; Mrs Nina White and Mrs Ann Kay, both of 
Colusa. She also leaves 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Mrs Burtis husband, 
John Charles Burtis, died in 1915. Funeral services will be held at the Sullivan chapel in 
Colusa at 2:30 pm Monday. Interment will be at the Grand Island Cemetery.
